Mozart & Schumann

Be moved by the music!

This will be the first time your ESO performed Schumann's Symphony No. 2 since 2014. This uplifting and exciting work is a complete romantic package, with gorgeous melodies that will sweep you off your feet, a lively scherzo, and herioc finale. First performed in 1846, it reflects the personal journey of Schumann during a dark time in his life that ultimately led to triumph.

Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, which was completed shortly before his death, features soaring melodies and a sublime middle movement. Zosha Di Castri’s 2023 composition, Pentimento, portrays the idea of perpetual cycles, both large and small, within music.
