Glow

An enchanting indoor holiday experience!

Glow, Edmonton’s biggest indoor holiday winter festival, is returning to the Edmonton Expo Centre from December 4 to 31, 2024.

Bigger, better, and more dazzling than ever—including the addition of Canada’s very first virtual reality Christmas ride, where passengers take an interactive trip around the world on Santa’s sleigh—Glow offers more themed nights, more live entertainment, and more holiday magic for the whole family.

Glow is Edmonton’s only indoor holiday destination that features an enchanting indoor holiday experience featuring festive attractions, live entertainment, and a light garden illuminated by millions of twinkling bulbs across 90,000 square feet. It reimagines itself every year with a new theme and, for 2024, the event will transform into a Christmas Carnival, complete with circus-inspired entertainment including roaming jugglers and improv performers.

Glow 2024 will offer both time-honoured favourites—like its special superhero and princess themed night, where kids get to make their own stickers, face masks, and wands (free of charge)—as well as a number of exciting additions making their debut.

Thrill-seekers of all ages will enjoy fun game activations, including Santa's Village. Immerse yourself in holiday-themed action with a Snowball Toss at Santa's Playground, then test your speed and reflexes in a magical simulated toy workshop. Saint Nick himself will be on-site at Glow, as well, for children of all ages to visit.

New this year is a special Toddler Play Area, where children under five can safely enjoy the magic of the holidays away from the hustle and bustle of the crowd. Little ones don’t have to contend with older kids, while parents can also get a chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy the magic of Glow with a drink or a snack. Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen is another exciting addition to Glow. The event is selling holiday cookies baked by beloved local purveyor A Worthy Cookie, which will be available to purchase both in-person and online. Be sure to visit Mrs. Claus—she’ll be making a special appearance!

Providing an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere to everyone is a top priority for Glow, and the grounds feature wheelchair-accessible pathways. An important touchstone of the event is its charitable contributions, which includes donating 100 per cent of coat check proceeds to such organizations as Ronald McDonald House, STARS, and the Christmas Bureau. In partnership with the Edmonton Autism Society, the holiday festival also presents its annual Glow Without Limits—a private event where those with sensory sensitivities can enjoy Glow’s holiday magic in a safe, quiet environment.

Alberta is expected to be extra frosty this winter. With twinkling lights and holiday delights, there’s no better way to warm up during the season than inside with the magic of Glow.
