By 1928, Chaplin was at the peak of his creative power. The Circus is a rousing adventure under the big top, where the beloved tramp pursues the girl of his dreams without knowing that he’s the show’s main star. Chaplin himself wrote the score to the movie decades later, and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra performs it live while the movie is shown above the stage.
