Reeling: Dance on Screen Film Festival
Mile Zero Dance has been promoting and presenting dance films since 2009. Their biennial festival, REELING: Dance on Screen, is designed to showcase artists ranging from local to international. MZD is committed to supporting creators who capture the essence of movement through the lens—translating dance into a visual language that speaks to all viewers.
This summer, MZD presents two weeks of immersive dance film experiences by directors and choreographers from around the world, including:
-
A curated program of dance films by Vancouver’s Matriarchs Uprising, featuring Indigenous female choreographers.
-
MZD’s selection of twenty-six national and international short films.
-
A late-night outdoor screening presented in collaboration with FAVA.
-
An opening celebration event with Sokaris Studios on July 19.
