James Gordon with Katherine Wheatley
The New Moon Folk Club is proud to present James Gordon and Katherine Wheatley in a performance at St. Basil's Cultural Centre.
James Gordon boasts a diverse career in the Canadian cultural scene, including 40 albums as a solo artist and with the groundbreaking trio Tamarack. He has composed for various media, scored films, served as a CBC radio songwriter-in-residence, produced records, written plays, engaged in community activism, directed theatre, and even holds a role as a Guelph City Councillor. Notably, he gained recognition for his viral hit "Crybabies Caravan," which addresses the 'Freedom Convoy' in Ottawa.
Katherine Wheatley's musical journey began with a $13 guitar from a Sears Catalogue and led her from singing "Rhinestone Cowboy" with a high school stage band to her work at the Canadian Geological Survey before embracing music full-time. Influenced by artists like Shawn Colvin, Edie Brickell, Joni Mitchell, and Gordon Lightfoot, Wheatley crafts heartfelt and melodious songs inspired by the natural world.
