In its 45th Season, BWDC presents Toronto-based artist Naishi Wang's Face to Face at the Tim Ryan Black Box Theatre in MacEwan University. Inspired by virtual communication, Wang explores body language, emojis, and speech rudiments in this captivating duet with collaborator Lukas Malkowski. Using hand gestures, rhythmic play, and simple embraces, they mirror and oppose each other, unveiling the complexities of communication. Wang, known for his improvisations and visual art, delves into imperfect transmission, depicting the intricacies of our connections to the world and each other. Born in Changchun, China, with diverse ancestry, Wang's Face to Face has received acclaim in Europe and Canada.
