Edmonton Terry Fox Run

A Canadian Experience

The story of the Canadian, Terry Fox, is known very well across the nation.

A young man from Coquitlam, BC awed the nation in 1980 with an ambitious goal to raise 1$ from every Canadian for cancer research, by running from coast to coast across the country. Word about his goal spread and news outlets began to cover the race across the nation as people lined up highways, and communities greeted Terry as he moved his way from town to town. He made it an astonishing 5,373 kilometres before cancer returned to his lungs, forcing him to stop his race. To continue the legacy, Canada unites to keep the run going, running the Terry Fox Run every September.

Attend this free event in the beautiful Kinsmen Park located between the Walterdale and High Level bridges. Run the full 10km route or stop when you want to - you decide how long you run.
