Angela Cheng Plays Clara Schumann

Angela Cheng joins the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at the Winspear to play a playful program of music by Mason Bates, Tchikovsky, and Clara Schumann.

Tchaikovsky’s joyful Symphony No. 2 is filled with his favourite folk tunes and bursting with youthful optimism. Clara Schumann wrote her glittering Piano Concerto when she was just 14 years old, and it is brimming with innocence and fun. Mason Bates’ pulsating Mothership was launched a decade ago by the YouTube Symphony Orchestra and featured young musicians from around the world.
