Manager, Corporate Content Open Collapsible Content

We are Edmonton’s Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMMO). We also manage two of Edmonton’s award-winning venues, the Edmonton Convention Centre and the Edmonton EXPO Centre. The Communications and Connections team is looking for a Manager, Corporate Content who develops and drives executive communications strategy and content creation in alignment with Explore Edmonton Corporation (EEC) business goals and priorities and overall communications strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, Communications and Connections, the Manager, Corporate Content will work closely with the Communications and Connections team to advance Explore Edmonton’s corporate reputation and ensure all executive communications, including speeches and presentations, letters, executive video scripts, social media content and corporate reports reflect the corporate brand and priorities, tailored to specific audience needs.


The Manager, Corporate Content uses the corporation’s content assets and channels to project the corporate brand and values and ensure the high-quality delivery of all corporate content and presentations. With EEC’s three lines of business – destination marketing and development, venue management and large-event production – this position is responsible to collaborate with Human Resources to effectively communicate the organization’s goals, values and priorities to a diverse group of approximately 1,200 employees. The Manager, Corporate Content Manager will supervise the Internal Communications Specialist to develop engaging internal communications.


In concert with the Executive Director and other department managers, the Corporate Content Manager is responsible for the planning, project managing, delivering, evaluating and reporting on the impact of executive communications strategies to inspire and engage our key corporate audiences, including industry partners, elected officials, the business community and Edmontonians.


The successful candidate will:

  • Support the execution of Explore Edmonton’s corporate communications plan and tactics by developing compelling, on-brand executive presentations and reports. Primary audiences include tourism industry partners, community and business leaders, Board of Directors, Shareholder, Explore Edmonton employees and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update the corporate template presentation and “stump” speech. Execute corporate presentations, Board and Shareholder presentations, working within our brand, demonstrating quality and consistent work.
  • Curate corporate presentations and materials for easy access.
  • Working with the brand production team, act as the point of contact and lead for creation of corporate plans, presentations and reports, including ECC’s annual report and corporate performance report to the Shareholder.
  • Lead the development of social media and communications strategies to optimize the use of executive, board and other corporate channels to promote key corporate assets such as the venues, major events and programs, including EEC’s sustainability program.
  • Produce content for executive social channels and align messaging with corporate and consumer channels.
  • Working with communications colleagues, co-ordinate executive online content with shared content across consumer and corporate social channels. Leverage existing content and align or tailor for executive channels.
  • Manage executive social media responses and community building.
  • Monitor and evaluate social media analytics, trends and content effectiveness.
  • Assist in monitoring executive social media accounts for emerging issues and work with Communications and Connections colleagues to mitigate and respond to issues.
  • Recommend and implement strategies, tools and platforms based on analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Connections team members and other departments on initiatives and annual planning.
  • Align executive communications needs with project and initiative communications planning.
  • Assist in the curation and development of internal corporate communications channels, including Connect – EEC's intranet.
  • Work closely with Communications and Connections colleagues to ensure digital communications approaches are considered and aligned with stakeholder relations planning and engagement.
  • Contribute to enhancing and protecting EEC’s corporate brand.
  • Help drive aligned messaging and brand storytelling across the organization and digital platforms.
  • Bring forward ideas that will inform and strengthen digital strategies and tactics for the Communications and Connections teams.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • High-energy communications professional with experience in executive-level social media and presentation development, corporate communications and marketing
  • Confident executive presence and presentation skills, including experience coaching leaders and handling confidential content; ability to take feedback and iterate content quickly
  • Ability to navigate between tactical communications delivery and corporate marketing strategy
  • Demonstrated exemplary writing and editing skills for executive clients with ability to adapt content to the medium and audience
  • Understanding of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms
  • Strong acumen for summarizing complex information into dynamic content and social posts

Manager, Brand Marketing (Temporary) Open Collapsible Content

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, the Manager, Brand Marketing leads the project management and production of creative assets across Explore Edmonton’s brands. They support ongoing brand strategies for Explore Edmonton (brand platform, brand architecture strategy, purpose and promise, values, and verbal identity (voice)), ensuring alignment with Explore Edmonton’s strategic goals and initiatives.

This position oversees the creative elements of both internal and external facing branded documents and campaign collateral and is the go-to resource for brand enquiries and is responsible for ensuring compliance across all projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Act as the main point of contact for the Brand & Design team, facilitating collaboration, providing regular updates, and managing feedback and approvals on creative projects.
  • Utilize resource management tool (Asana) to gain visibility into resource availability, identify bottlenecks, and optimize work allocation.
  • Manage workloads and assign internal team members and external contractors on projects based on skill sets, availability, and project priorities, ensuring alignment with Explore Edmonton’s strategic goals and initiatives.

  • Lead creative strategy, development, innovation, and production of creative assets across brands.

The Global Marketing Team is looking for a Manager, Digital Marketing to join our Global Marketing team. The Global Marketing team inspires travelers to explore Edmonton through out-of-the-box content, stunning visuals, and compelling stories. As part of our year-round marketing strategy, we work in partnership with industry leaders to promote attractions, experiences, festivals, major events, and one of the country’s hottest culinary scenes. Reporting to the Director, Global Marketing, this position leads, plans and oversees the team’s digital marketing efforts and is responsible for achieving the business goals of Explore Edmonton’s Global Marketing digital strategy. This position is responsible for the design and execution of digital marketing business plans, evaluating research and data insights and continual monitoring of campaign efficacy, in service to the organization’s digital marketing and social media strategy. This position is vital to helping determine digital marketing direction with a strong ability to identify opportunities and stay on the cutting edge of digital marketing activity.

Main duties include strategy execution leadership, management of multi-faceted and complex digital campaign elements, and execution of business plans and the tactics needed to drive return on investment for the organization and its partners.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead the planning, development and execution of all digital marketing tactics and strategy in alignment with all Marketing Account Managers and their associated portfolios.

An Exhibit Sales Lead plays a pivotal role in managing and driving sales for exhibitions, conventions, or trade shows. They are responsible for identifying and securing exhibitors and maintaining relationships with key clients. The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills to create compelling sales pitches and close deals. Additionally, they often collaborate with event teams to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Post secondary in business, marketing or an extensive knowledge of sales, marketing resource building. Relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably within a telephone-based inside sales, outbound calling environment.
