#SnapYEG Photo Challenge

Explore Edmonton’s #SnapYEG photo challenge is your chance to showcase the beauty, energy, and hidden gems of our city! Every two weeks, we’ll drop a fresh theme on Instagram, inviting local photographers and storytellers to capture Edmonton’s sights and sounds. Our in-house judges will select two standout photo stories bi-weekly, and at the end of the month, the top four will go head-to-head in a public vote. The winner takes home a $500 Edmonton prize pack filled with incredible local experiences.

Theme 1: Night Lights

From the buzz of neon signs, to decorative patio lanterns, or the glow of the city skyline, we want to see how you capture Edmonton's light after dark!

Semi-finalist 1: @danschyk (left). A lightning-filled sky over the Walterdale Bridge shows just how exciting Edmonton’s summer storms can be.

Semi-finalist 2: @4ft11ish (right). This fiery performance is one of the many unforgettable moments that light up Edmonton’s summer festivals.

Theme 2: Interesting Perspectives

Upside down? A frame within a frame? An unusual angle? We want to see how you see Edmonton differently!

1. Follow @ExploreEdmonton, and look out for our bi-weekly photo theme.
2. Post your photos and use #SnapYEG and #ExploreEdmonton to enter.
3. Tell us the great story behind your photo in your caption.
4. Our judges will select the top two entries per theme, to be entered to win the contest prize at the end of the month.
5. The top four photos at the end of the month will be shared on Explore Edmonton’s social channel for public voting through a poll style vote.
6. The winner will be contacted through DM to arrange the prize package.
