2023 FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour

From July 20-23, the 2023 FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour took over the ICE District and brought the beach to the heart of downtown. Fan Park @ ICE District transformed into a beach and the best volleyball athletes in the world battled in the sand. With three event levels and a grand finale, the tour travels around the world to stunning locations and this Challenge level tournament in Edmonton was one of only two Canadian stops in 2023.

Explore Edmonton provided hands-on support with several different aspects of this event, such as production, event legacy, connection with the local community, promotion, and ticket sales. With 40 national and international referees, 50 coaches, 96 teams representing 24 different countries, 192 athletes, 200 volunteers, and an estimated 200 spectators per day, this event was a big success. The city was buzzing with energy as athletes and staff visited our city, generating an estimated 500 hotel room nights and a total economic impact of $3.8 million.
