Oh, April... It's that time of the year again where we're not sure if we can put the winter boots away for good, or if there is one more snow day left before the flowers begin to bloom. One thing we do know for sure is that the days are certainly getting longer, the air is feeling warmer and there are plenty of things to check out around Edmonton this month!

Edmonton International BeerFest
Bigger and better! Edmonton’s International Beerfest takes over 80 000 sq. feet of space in Edmonton’s premier conference destination, The Shaw Conference Centre. BeerFest is the 2014 Golden Fork Award Winner for Best Beverage Festival or Event! With over 500 beers available for tasting, a whole new line-up of entertainment, and Edmonton’s most popular and best beer-serving establishments represented, this year is shaping up to be the best one yet. Cheers!
April 13 - 14

Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival
From singers and guitarists to actors and pianists, students take centre stage at the 110th annual Kiwanis Music Festival. It's Canada's first ever competitive music festival and over 2500 students will be there to perform.

Catch the Action at Rogers Place
Hockey... it's the most Edmonton thing you can do. Cheer on the Edmonton Oilers in their final few home games of the season. Hockey hair presented live in HD... what more could you want? For even more iconic hair, catch Rod Stewart when he comes into town April 6. And if you're ready to Fly Like an Eagle and feel the Jungle Love, get your tickets to Steve Miller Band and Peter Frampton on April 21.

Which one came first, the science or the fiction? To find out, become a "Popnolgist," an expert in the study of how films, books, television and art inspire technological advancements! You’ll come face-to-face with the world’s first 3D printed car, the DeLorean Time Machine and even step into a time capsule of 1983. On your journey to becoming true POPnologists, you can also visit replica set from the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, participate in interactive exhibits like hands-on robotics, futuristic musical instrument technology, 80s gaming stations, and over a dozen immersive games.
February 9 - May 6

Citie Ballet Presents: Ignite
Spring is definitely in the air for the final programme of Citie Ballet’s Mainstage series. Edmonton’s resident professional ballet company is presenting three original works: two debut pieces by Citie Ballet’s own emerging choreographers Lydia Redpath and Matthew Klippenstein and a new work from Artistic Director, Jorden Morris. Each show celebrates the spirit of the spring season with stories that reflect emergence and change.
