Ahhh, summer. Where did you go? Is it really almost September already? The calendar and our fading tan lines say yes–but don’t worry, we’ve still got loads of stuff for you to do!

Symphony Under the Sky
Get a taste of great music in the great outdoors during the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony Under the Sky. Head out to Hawrelak Park for themed concerts including "A Night In Hollywood" and "The Nat King Cole Songbook". Enjoy majestic and rousing masterpieces under the open sky; what better way to spend a late-summer evening?
August 31-September 3

ATB Tour of Alberta and Velothon
Cyclists rejoice as the Tour of Alberta returns for the fourth year. Come out and cheer on the riders as the largest professional cycling race in Canada concludes in a wild Churchill Square finish. Don't miss out on the festival packed with live entertainment, interactive vendors, local food and awesome activities too. Put the pedal to the medal and get your cheer on!
September 1-4

Whether you tune-up or tune-in for the occasion, we want you to join cyclists from around the globe in a closed circuit ride and feel like a pro on the 100k Velothon, 60k Velothon or 5k family version of the route. If lawn chair cheering is more your style, grab some pom-poms and start shaking!

BreakOut West Festival
Over 60 artists and bands will take over nine venues across the city for the BreakOut West Festival— celebrating all things live music. You'll find everything from pop and rock to classical music, jazz and more. Don't worry, you only need one wristband to get in on all the action, so you can hop from show to show all weekend. Who knows? You may find a new favourite tune for your playlist.

Kaleido Family Arts Festival
A smorgasbord of creative performances explode onto Alberta Avenue for the Kaleido Festival. Everything from music, dance, theatre, and film to visual arts lead an action-packed three-day schedule that starts early and goes late. Admission is free and donations are gratefully accepted!
September 15-17

Davis Cup by BNP Paribas
The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis, and it's being served up in Edmonton this September. Canada will face off against India at Northlands Coliseum to see who will win the right to stay in the elite World Group for 2018. Who will emerge victorious? Well, you'll have to get tickets to find out first hand (or back-hand... we couldn't resist).

Rogers Place
Concerts, comedians and pre-season hockey— your headquarters for entertainment this September is the architectural marvel known as Rogers Place. Check out this killer collection of events headed our way:

FISE Action Sports Festival
Get ready, because this is going to be big. Edmonton is hosting the Festival International des Sports Extreme (aka FISE, but pronounced "feece.") World Series. Our city will come alive to cheer on the BMX Freestyle, MTB Slopestyle, BMX Flat, Scooter and Skateboard competitions. The world's top athletes and amateurs will be competing in front of thousands of fans at Hawrelak Park. Want to know the best part? It's totally free to attend!

Shakespeare in Love at the Citadel Theatre
To see a play, or not to see a play. That is the question... and the answer is yes, you should see Shakespeare in Love at the Citadel Theatre. Watch as the Bard falls in love with an engaged woman, and swoon as their forbidden romance inspires the playwright’s most famous tragedy. Stop in for a pre or post-show dinner at one of downtown's awesome restaurants for the ultimate date night.

Dreamspeakers International Film Festival
Edmonton becomes the site of an international gathering of our own Dreamtalkers: filmmakers, actors, performers and artists. Aboriginal people from around the globe gather to share their common bond - a linkage with a natural world whose harmonies and rhythms are being forgotten by those who came later, offering a unique exploration into Aboriginal cultures.
September 20-24

Edmonton Design Week
From their sketchbooks to the streets, Edmonton will be taken over by installations, workshops, pop-ups and parties for nine design-filled days. Edmonton Design Week will gather artists, designers, performers, and craftspeople, along with spectators, consumers, fans, and critics. What will follow is a celebration of talent and culture, bringing increased energy to the core and all of its prominent and unique spaces.

Edmonton International Film Festival
Indulge your cinematic appetite with the Edmonton International Film Festival...and a large bag of popcorn (with extra butter of course.)
