OverKlocked gaming and computers
Calling all night elves, street fighters, and solo mids... if you like video games, you'll love OverKlocked. OverKlocked is the largest LAN centre in Alberta, featuring over 100 gaming systems. They host tournaments, monthly overnight lock-ins, and weekly gaming nights. Whether you head down with your crew or fly solo, you'll find a great place to hangout and bone-up on the latest in computer and console gaming.
Board Game Cafés
Are you a Settlers of Catan master? Do you crush Cylon fleets like a pro when you play Battlestar Gallactica? Do your friends call you the king of Cards Against Humanity? Edmonton loves board game cafés (we built this city on rock and wheat after all), and you'll find your favourite games at Table Top, Board n' Brew, and Hexagon. Escape Rooms
Escape rooms are the bomb dot com. Seriously, they are the most fun. You'll need to channel your inner Jessica Jones in order to solve a series of clues and escape before the clock runs out. Trust me, your heart will be racing. Make sure to try your hand at Escape City's Quarterback Sneak, which features a ton of innovative Edmonton inspired puzzles.

You don't need a bat signal to know that Happy Harbor is the place to be. Whether you're a Marvel or DC fan, this is your comic book headquarters in Edmonton. Named Canada's Best Comic Store at the 2007 Shuster awards, Happy Harbor has become the largest comic retailer in Western Canada. Looking for a great new read? Metro Cinema at the Garneau Theatre
You didn't think we'd leave out the movie geeks, did you? Located at the Garneau Theatre, Metro Cinema is a classic art deco movie house and a throwback to the timeless cinema experience. Metro shows a little bit of everything on its velvet-curtained single screen: documentaries to foreign films, filmmaker debuts to timeless classics and even new releases that aren't playing elsewhere in the city. Plus, the affordable popcorn paired with an Alberta craft beer makes for a screening that's truly delish.
Dark Matters
If you think Telus World of Science is rated G, then listen up. Dark Matters is an 18+ event featuring food, a bar and a live DJ. Each Dark Matters evening has a different theme, from Fears and Phobias to The Science of Sex, with a variety of activities, like hands-on science experiments, games, and exclusive access to galleries. Mild-mannered scientist by day... party animal by night.
The Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo
The mother of all fandom events rolls into the city every fall. This year's Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo takes over from September 18-20. Some huge stars have come to town over the years like George Takei (Star Trek), Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who) and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride). Guaranteed good times? Make it so.
