Symphony Under the Sky

Start the month off right with Symphony Under The Sky! Beloved guest conductor Robert Bernhardt returns for the popular festival's 26th year at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park. Enjoy music from all of your favourite film scores and iconic composers while soaking up the last few drops of the summer sun.

Sing the Blues on Whyte Avenue

The Commercial Hotel/Blues on Whyte is pleased to present two days of fabulous music at the Whyte Avenue Blues Festival! This intimate music festival showcases the best in Canadian blues in the heart of Old Strathcona. Come enjoy the fresh air while wandering Whyte Ave, grab a bite, then stop in to catch the tunes. This is a blues bash that you won’t want to miss!

September 2-3

Cocktails & Jerk

Dance, eat, kick back, and experience the diversity of Caribbean culture at Cocktails & Jerk! This two day event draws its inspiration from the popular Jamaican street food and jerk chicken. With an entertainment lineup that delivers the cool and relaxing energy of an island breeze, and food options that take your tastebuds on a tropical vacation of its own, this is the perfect way to say farewell to summer.

Rock Out with the Greats

The world’s most iconic and celebrated rock legends have hit the road together this summer for a coheadlining tour so massive that it could only be held in North America’s biggest stadiums! The Stadium Tour featuring Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard with Poison, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts is set to steamroll through Commonwealth Stadium, where each band will bring their electrifying shows and perform their stadium sized anthems.

Paint the Town

The Grindstone's Mural Massive is back for the third year! Watch new large-scale murals get painted in this indoor/outdoor art and theatre event in Old Strathcona's Garage District. This event features four outdoor areas to enjoy while incredible street artists bring large murals to life in real time. Live entertainment, a killer patio, dance parties and more await!

Discover Indigenous Edmonton

Treaty 6 Territory is home to many nations including the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Sioux and Métis People. This month is the perfect chance to take advantage of the weather and immerse yourself in culture at Métis Crossing, take an Indigenous-led tour with Talking Rock Tours, or to discover the stories that have shaped Treaty 6 Territory at the Royal Alberta Museum. Visit the Indigenous People's Experience at Fort Edmonton Park - catch it before the park closes for the season on September 18!

Farm to Flame Dinners at Old Red Barn

The Old Red Barn's unique cooking experience is found on a working dairy farm in Leduc, and dinners are held in a beautiful 1950’s barn overlooking Whitemud creek. Tropical Night is the ultimate vacation right in the heart of the city offering the best vibes! Located at Edmonton's only fully licensed outdoor events venue, The Backyard is a place to unwind, connect and discover all things local. Play On!

Canada’s largest street hockey festival is back! Take part in a hockey festival like no other complete with interactive games, food, sponsor activations, and special events – including a celebrity street hockey game. If you prefer the sidelines, you can still head down to the grounds to cheer on the street hockey players. Age, gender, and experience level play no importance here! Just grab your sneakers and a stick to Play On!

The Strathearn Art Walk & Music Festival is a free, family-friendly art and music festival. This annual celebration of the arts strives to bring out the best in the community by bringing people together to celebrate emerging and professional art and music, all with the scenic backdrop of our beautiful river valley and city skyline. Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo

The Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo is our city's greatest pop culture convention. Tens of thousands of people gather each year for a celebration of all things pop culture — comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, and everything in between. Enjoy meeting your favourite stars, grab a drawing from your favourite comic book artist, enjoy one-time-only workshops and guest panels, and shop vendors from around the country with incredible items for purchase and display.

Kaleido Hits the Road

Arts on the Ave and Kaleido are back with Kaleido Family Arts Festival 2022: Heart in Living Colour. This joyous, exuberant, radically open arts festival shares the love of the Alberta Avenue Arts District, and welcomes collaborative performances such as music, dance, theatre, film, literary and visual arts with performances on rooftops, sides of buildings, back alleys, parks and found spaces. It’s an extravagance of creative exploration, imagination, and play.

KULTURA Edmonton Filipino Festival

KULTURA Festival showcases the richness of the Filipino culture and promotes an appreciation of the Filipino heritage! Featuring mouth-watering cuisine, traditional folk dances, music and art, this festival invites you to experience the best of the Philippine islands. There will also be a special headline performance from a Filipino celebrity well known to the community. Come take it all in at the Heritage Amphitheatre at Hawrelak Park!

Edmonton International Film Festival

Fancy checking out a new movie, or ten? The Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF) celebrates diverse cinema in theatres right here in Edmonton. You'll laugh, cry and feel inspired by high quality films from YEG and around the world. These features and shorts span all genres and are mixed with a handful of award-winners from the film festival circuit.

September 22 - October 1

Get a Little Corny

It's corn! Each year, the Edmonton Corn Maze creates new themes designed to get thousands of visitors lost in their tracks. Expect 5 kilometers of twists and turns, as well as 85 decision points. A series of clue cards will offer guidance along the way, with questions rated for all ages. Get lost - it's kind of the point!

Gateway to the Stars

Look up for the greatest show on earth! Experience the wonder of Elk Island’s night sky in the heart of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve with Gateway to the Stars. Escape the city to gaze upon the countless stars in our galaxy and learn to navigate from one constellation to the next. Campfire and a friendly park interpreter are included. Get back to nature with this eye-opening activity!
