All you have is five days to take in all the action at the Canadian Finals Rodeo. Saddle bronc riders have even less. Eight seconds to keep their grip on a high bucking horse.
Feel the excitement in the air when the buzzer goes. It takes guts, strength and years of training to make it here; and only a few seconds to go home a champion, or without a title. Catch all the big events nightly: Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Novice Events, Boys Steer Riding, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing and Bull Riding. Don’t miss steer wrestling, a lightning-quick feat of timing and strength, and one of the most challenging events of all. Or catch barrel racing, where each rider circles three barrels as tightly as she can, trying to beat the time clock, and the competition. Rodeo fans always love to cheer on the Bareback cowboys, an event likened to “riding a jack-hammer with only one hand.”
Remember to kick-off your fun at the tailgate party, complete with Beer Gardens, local musicians, and yummy eats from Edmonton’s top food trucks. Afterward, join the belt buckles and big hats at the official bar.
It’s an authentic Western rush. And there’s nothing quite like it!
