Yippee! Summer is finally here and we’ve got a very busy month in store for you. From Pride parades to Shakespeare and everything in between, there won’t be a shortage of things to do in June. Check out what’s going on:
Edmonton Pride Festival
Dive into pride at the Edmonton Pride Festival! With fabulous floats, food vendors, live musical acts and over 40 different events, you're sure to be inspired, dazzled and entertained. Come out and celebrate unity and diversity at one of Western Canada’s largest LGBTQ festivals. Don’t miss the big parade down Whyte Avenue on Saturday June 5!
Edmonton Craft Beer Festival
Cheers to beer! Gather your friends and head to Northlands for the biggest beer festival in Edmonton’s history. For those beer connoisseurs out there, this is your time to shine and show off your knowledge as you sip and sample from hundreds of local, national and international craft beers. You’ll leave with your own sample mug and a warm belly. Can’t wait to see you there!
Heart of the City Music and Arts Festival
Make your way to Giovanni Caboto Park for this two day family-friendly festival celebrating the full spectrum of talent and culture in central Edmonton. Groove to the beat as Edmonton’s emerging musicians take the stage and watch as young artists paint a large mural!
Park After Dark
With summer comes many outdoor patios, but Park After Dark isn’t your typical patio party. It comes with live horseracing, a DJ, and tons of games with prizes! Every Friday starting on June 3, you can head over to Northlands to socialize with friends, have a cold drink and place bets on your favourite horses. This patio stretches out for 51,800 square feet giving you plenty of room to let loose!

NUOVA Opera & Music Theatre Festival
You can't miss a performance at Canada’s Largest Opera and Music Theatre Festival. Emerging Artists from across Canada bring their voices to concerts, masterclasses and fully staged small and large scale opera and musical theatre productions. This year's focus is Italian repertoire and includes shows such as The Gondoliers, La Bohème and more.

It’s BBQ season! And what better way to celebrate than to go to a BBQ festival at Clarke Park. Yes, we do have a festival for barbequing, we’re Edmonton after all. There will be food demonstrations, local food vendors, beer gardens, entertainment and a BBQ competition bringing 42 teams across Western Canada to compete. There will even be a concert series with killer music including the Sheepdogs, Gord Bamford, Loverboy and more!
Summer Solstice Music Festival
If you love chamber musiic, then you’ll enjoy the Summer Solstice Music Festival. Pianists, violinists, percussionists and other types of musicians will be scattered throughout the city for a series of concerts from June 20-28. Not only that, there will be programs you can attend that explore different types of music from Baroque to modern day.
Freewill Shakespeare Festival
“To be, or not to be: that is the question” and the answer is yes, you should be at the Freewill Shakespeare Festival this month! Get thee to an outdoor performance in Hawrelak Park with the beautiful river valley as your backdrop. This year’s productions are Romeo and Juliet and Love’s Labour’s Lost, and you can enjoy them on a pay-what-you-can basis. Don’t worry if it rains – the outdoor amphitheatre has a big tent to keep you dry!

The Works Art & Design Festival
Be inspired at the Works Art & Design Festival and watch as creative folks transform one square kilometer of downtown Edmonton into a masterpiece. There are over 260 impromptu exhibits and galleries to explore and many outdoor events to take part in. And best of all, any artists can take part and the festival is completely free to the public. The more the merrier!

TD Edmonton International Jazz Festival
Bring out your jazz hands for this year’s Edmonton International Jazz Festival! The festival will bring jazz shows, intimate club shows, cabaret-style performances, free outdoor concerts and international touring acts. Sit back, relax and let the sweet sounds of saxophone and silky voices move your soul.
