Travel around the world in a single weekend without leaving Edmonton during the Servus Heritage Festival. Join Rwanda pavillion volunteer John Kijuli for a tour of the festival, featuring over 60 pavilions and 85 nations, a mosaic of multi-cultural sights, sounds and aromas.
Servus Heritage Festival is a family-friendly mingling of nations sharing their entertainment and culture, and an event that has been celebrating diversity for more than four decades. While there is no admission fee, visitors are invited to donate a non-perishable item to the Edmonton Food Bank. Sample culinary treats and take in lively and creative ethnic performances. Linger over photos and displays of lifestyles around the world. Chat with folks proud to discuss their unique roots and the rich multi-cultural communities they have created in Canada. Shop for artwork, crafts and clothing. You'll finish the day with a better understanding and appreciation for our planet’s remarkable diversity.
Servus Heritage Festival is only one of Edmonton's many summer festivals. Edmonton Folk Music Festival, The Edmonton Fringe Festival, and Cariwest Caribbean Arts Festival are not to be missed. Learn more about what is coming up in this list of things to do in Edmonton in August.
