You think you know Edmonton?
Check out our video series with local hosts showing you sides of Edmonton you may not have seen before.

Matt Schuurman, Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre, walks us through downtown's entertaining and inspiring Arts District. Rapid Fire Theatre is one of the world's longest running improv theatre group and they call Citadel Theatre home. Every Friday and Saturday night, they have you laughing out loud for hours. Their annual Improvaganza Festival brings improv and sketch acts from around the world for 10 days of hilarity.

The Arts District is nestled in the heart of downtown around Churchill Square, where these great places call home:

  • Art Gallery of Alberta is for visual arts and is the iconic silver structure you can't miss. Dine at Zinc in the AGA before taking a cruise through the exhibits!
  • Winspear Centre is one of the finest performance halls in North America. The world-renowned Edmonton Symphony Orchestra performs there regulary, as well as other touring artists.
  • The Citadel Theatre is one of North America's largest not-for-profit theatres with 5 performance spaces. Between the local theatre productions and larger travelling shows, there's always a good show to catch at the Citadel.

Before you take in a show, have dinner at one of the nearby Edmonton Original restaurants like Zinc (in the AGA), Woodwork, Craft Beer Market, Tres Carnales or Hardware Grill.
